LAMBDA ALPHA ALUMNI CHAPTER raises $500 for LES Girls Club and volunteered @ 2011 Strawberry Festival

A MESSAGE FROM LAMBDA ALPHA ALUMNI CHAPTER PRESIDENT WALDIR ALVAREZ

I would like to extend a thank you to Alex Chunga, Kaed Gonzalez and Danny Marin for their participation this morning at the LES walk-a-thon for the LES Girls Club. Our chapter organized a donation of $500. I am quite impressed in the generosity of our brotherhood, friends and family alike.

If that was not enough, thank you to Alex, Danny, James Gustaw and Fernando Bisono for their assistance at the 2011 Strawberry Festival today as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the special guest appearance of the Founding Brother from John Jay colony. To do community service on his visit from Nevada is noteworthy. I was fortunate for my son to meet the alumni brothers working for its community. Great example brothers.

Fraternally,

Waldir B. Alvarez

HIP HOP ARTIST C-QUEL------- ALUMNI BROTHER Gregory Shaw (FALL 99 THETA CHAPTER)

http://www.reverbnation.com/themightysiek

ARTIST SUMMARY

Genres: Hip Hop / Hip Hop / Hip Hop
ARTIST BIO
C-Quel was born May 27,in New Brunswick, NJ. This recording artist /songwriter of African-American, West Indian, Native American and Irish descent grew up in Old Bridge, NJ. His strong musical background derives from his mother, who loved to sing and dance; as well as his father, who played at various New York City venues as a polished guitarist and keyboardist in a band. C-Quel began singing at his Baptist Church at the age of 4 years old. By 9, he played the alto saxophone in the school band, and continued for the next 4 years. 90’s Hip Hop and R&B heavily influenced his life—Tupac Shakur , LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes particularly contributed to his desire to pursue a music career. “The Red Carpet Affair” explains the impact that the “Mighty Siek” will have on the music industry. He sees a particular lack of creativity, and knows that he can fill that void where others have not. C-Quel tested the boundaries of his songwriting skills and delivered a unique sound on this challenging project. The Mighty Siek believes re-imaging his brand is the only way to challenge his creativity. “The Red Carpet Affair” has a “Mainstream” sound, and a “Hip Hop” influence.

Hello Brothers.

My name is Juan J. Martinez and I am the current Secretary/Communications officer for the Lambda Theta Phi Foundation. As you may or may not know, The Foundation is a non-profit entity that is affiliated with the Fraternity.

Since its founding in 1998, the Foundation has awarded numerous scholarships to Brothers and Chapters across the nation. We have also hosted and participated in an abundant number of socio-cultural programming that benefits our Brotherhood and local communities.

In addition, the Foundation has also extended its hand and collaborated nationally and internally with other organizations to help those in need during the recent natural disasters.

As always we strive for better programs and larger scholarships, but the time has come for us to petition for greater contributions. We have a variety of premiums available for those who donate to the Foundation. These premiums can be given in gratitude for a donation or can be bought from our Foundation store.
