2012 BROTHERHOOD CONVENTION
BARCELO RESORT PUNTA CANA
JUNE 21-24, 2012
The immense Barcelo hotel park, a genuine town made up of five hotels. As its name indicates, this hotel houses the resort's casino. Golf course, casino, disco, spa, shopping centre, endless bars and restaurants... Fortunately, a small train serves the whole of this giant resort. A great place for those who are crazy about large, exclusive, and secure hotels with an all inclusive package.
MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW SOON.

2012 Nickel Drive
Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Incorporated, the first and largest Latino fraternity in the country, alongside the American Heart Association, is conducting its annual Nickel Drive to benefit the AHA in research of Heart Disease, Stroke, and other related health concerns.
Due to a lack of awareness in the Latino community, Lambda Theta Phi decided to partner with the nations' largest and oldest voluntary health organization, the American Heart Association (AHA) as its national philanthropy in 2008. Chapters across the county will mobilize to collect donations and educate the community on the third largest cause of death for Americans: heart disease and stroke, respectively. The National Executive Board has developed resources for each chapter to utilize on their respective campus.
This year national AHA nickel drive will run from January th, 2011 until February 29th, 2012. All proceeds collected will be donated to the AHA. Founded in 1924, the AHA is dedicated to building lives free of heart disease and stroke through research, education, and prevention.
A reminder today we are having a meetup at Museum of Modern Art at 3pm. More information at out website www.nylambdas.net.

Civil rights lawyer Diego Bernal proved Saturday that a political neophyte can run for City Council with almost no name recognition or money and overcome opponents with both.
Bernal, 34, sailed to victory in his runoff against retired firefighter and one-time front-runner Ralph Medina. Walking into his victory party, Bernal thanked his opponent for “a good and competitive, spirited race” and said the city's first responders will have a friend and ally in the District 1 office.
“I'm really very humbled that people put their trust in me, and I'm excited about the opportunity,” Bernal said. “I think that this district needs a very diverse and aggressive City Council office, and I'm more than ready to lead that charge.”
